Agatha Twisty & the Murder in Panto Land

Have you ever been watching a pantomime and thought to yourself, “What this needs is a murder”?
Neither had we, but this year it might just be unavoidable because the citizens of Pantoland are at breaking point dealing with their miserable monarch Queen Jezabella. She’s been raising taxes, taking land, placing curses, withholding promotions and even blackmailing her subjects.
Luckily, Agatha Twisty, the world’s greatest made-up detective and her trusty assistant Wadsworth are on hand should anyone decide to take matters into their own hands.
This is all the mayhem of panto with the the laughs of a very funny murder mystery - oh yes it is!

Our latest show date for a new format for Shinfield Players Theatre brings an evening of quick wit, stunning illusions and wall-to-wall laughter with a bill of three TV & stage-experienced entertainers compered by Shinfield's own Magic Circle member - Dan Hudson.
A hugely experienced performer (and member of the Magic Circle), Dan has been delivering solo entertainment shows and multi-performer evenings for both the public and corporate markets over many years and his Hocus Jokus magic and comedy show returns to Shinfield Players Theatre on Thursday, February 19th including a talented line-up of professional performers with a UK, international and stage and TV pedigree.
Age guidance for this show is 12+.

A Bunch of Amateurs

Keen to boost his flagging career, fading Hollywood action hero Jefferson Steele arrives in England to play King Lear in Stratford – only to find that this is not the birthplace of the Bard, but a sleepy Suffolk village. And instead of Kenneth Branagh and Dame Judi Dench, the cast are a bunch of amateurs trying to save their theatre from developers.
Jefferson’s monstrous ego, vanity and insecurity are tested to the limit by the enthusiastic am-dram thespians. As acting worlds collide and Jefferson’s career implodes, he discovers some truths about himself – along with his inner Lear!
Written by Private Eye stalwarts Ian Hislop and Nick Newman who first worked together on Spitting Image this is a laugh-a-minute show guaranteed to make your evening!

Love Me Tender

Love Me Tender by Alison Chaplin is a soap opera version of the first half of Romeo and Juliet - with a cliff-hanger ending! Faithful to the original story and characters, it places Shakespeare's great tragedy in a modern context and includes the pivotal ending of Tybalt's death.

Made in Dagenham

Based on the true story of the 1968 Ford sewing machinists' strike in Dagenham, England, which fought for equal pay, 'Made in Dagenham' is an emotional rollercoaster that celebrates courage and unity.
With stunning music and powerful female characters it is a milestomne in British theatre and a great challenge for our Senior Youth Group team.
